Maggie came into our lives with boundless energy when she was nine weeks old and left us surrounded by love at the age of 12.

As empty-nesters, Maggie gave us a reason for getting out of bed each morning and doing those trail walks. She was the reason for taking those vacations to walk the sandy beaches of North Carolina or northern Michigan. She had a desire to please and was a joy to have with us on those long drives to vacation in Arizona. She was the reason that our lives felt full.

She lived big, with an infectious spirit that always made her a flight risk, and she greeted everyone with an enthusiasm we couldn’t change. We miss her watchful eye in the kitchen, her subtle reminders that it’s dinner time, and her enthusiasm to curl up with us for an afternoon nap.

“Grief is the price we pay for love.” We miss her big heart and her gentle soul.
